I think if you are trying to pack on the mass you should be eating as much as possible where you can. So yeah, i would still eat as much on rest days.

Hard to gauge without knowing where you are starting from. You will always get advice to just pound as much food as you can in....but that is retarded. You need to create an energy and protein surplus....but sticking on 10kg of fat along with the 2kg of muscle you might gain isn't the best way to reach what I am going to assume are your body composition goals.

basic answer is no you shouldn't be eating the same amount on your rest day as your workout days.

On your workout days you should be eating your standard amount of calories + extra calories to gain weight + the calories used for workout. On rest days it would just be standard calories + extra calories to gain weight.

Also where is the 100g of carbs and 40g of protein thing coming from?

thanks for the reply joe the answer to your question is i was informed from reading muscle and fitness that hardgainers need this much extra food by doing the math this works out at a calorie surplus of about 1000 what i was trying to find out was should my calorie surplus on a rest day be 1000 or 500 if i get it wrong then i wont see any results and if im consuming too many calories on a rest day then surely i would be packing on way to much bodyfat
