Its about time you strange upside down burger eating people answered this!!!

And this only applies to those weirdo's who do this.

Why, seriously, do you pick up your burger and turn it upside down before you eat it.

My OH does it and I have seen you freaks do it when Im out and about. Why, WHY WHY??????

I have tested my OH with this when making burgers at home.

I have put the burger in the bun upside down on the plate in the vain hope she might pick it up turn it over and eat it the right way up but she does not.

I have even put two bottom buns one day and two top buns another day on her burger to try and confuse her but she got angry.

WTF is wrong with you freaks????

Are you watching people eating burgers using their reflections on spoons?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,110 ✭✭✭Aodan83

Maybe it's just your OH has a problem. It's one thing turning it upside down, it's another entirely to freak out when given a burger with 2 top buns.
Actually, why the hell don't you just ask her instead of annyoing her with your burger bun tomfoolery!!

At least my post made sense. Why do you care if people turn their burgers over? Personally I don't but why do you care?

If it harms you, do go on so we can help you!

The majority of people do this actually. When you pick up the burger, you pick it up normally, and eat it normally, but when you put it back down you put it down upside down. Its easier to pick back up and eat it again if its put down upside down.

Weird but that's just the way it is. It annoys me a bit since there's obviously a topside, but putting it upside down is more convienent.

I reckon they do it to taste the tomato and lettuce before they hit the burger, as opposed to tasting bun then the burger then getting to the rabbit food. Plus the top bit of the bun has little seeds which is nice to taste first too.

When you go to pick up a burger you often put your thumbs on top and fingers underneath in a natural attempt to make sure that it wont fall out of your hands - fingers spread out so stopping the bun from sagging and less chance of bits of it toppling out. then once you've got it gripped you bend your elbows and as you raise your hands in a semi circle they turn upside down and magically turn the burger too. Its actually the more natural way to eat if you have opposable thumbs.

And some people prefer the texture and tastes when you get the different sauces and toppings in a different order and positions on the tongue.

    Seeemples!

and just about my most anally retentive post ever:o/ leaves now

I have often picked up a big mac or whopper you have to bite a hugh lump out of it or the burger slides out but I have never turned it upside down or seen anyone else!

Australians are on the other side of the world or "down under." A popular myth attributed to the Australians, which is jokingly often told to children, is that they live their lives constantly upside down. Hence it would make sense for them to eat similarly.

    is the correct answer.

Brought on by habit formed from eating those pretend burgers in mcdonalds that drip sauce, lettuce, onions onto your hands, down your sleves and onto your lap unless you try and stem the flow by turning them over to reverse the droop, flow and squishyness.

Official, scientificness as published in New Scientist in 2005.

See, this is one of the big reasons so many relationships fail.

    Have you tried asking her?

I do the twisty thing with my burgers but only if they're really greasy like the ones from Leo Burdocks on Liffey street because the deep fry their burgers.

Anywho i think this helps the burger not get so soggy with grease.
