I have a set of pearl drums. I have some photos on my phone i can upload (as soon as i get off my ass to find the cable)

II want to buy a set of electrical drums. I rang up a place today and they said they had drums starting at 800.. Bit too much for me. What's the cheapest i could get out there? And where abouts would you get it? I would love to sell the pearl drums i have right now or trade them in as part of the deal. (electrical drums can be 2nd hand as well)

Well I've only had a years lessons and i'm not looking to get anywhere professional. Would it make much of a difference between what of drum i get?
I see a lot of drum kits there that all look the same but have different prices... What gets better or worse with each set?

tbh i dont know much about the electric kits but i presume its down to playing surfaces eg. edge and bow of cymbals (like for a ride and crash on one cymbal) and also the quality of the drum sounds programmed in the module. but its really up to yourself and i presume some obe with a better knowledge then me will eventually reply.

Mostly the kits stay the same until you start paying the big moneys, 2-5k. But in the lower price ranges it mostly the Brain that get better and better. The brain, or module is the little computer that all the pads get plugged into, and turns your hit into the sound. As you go up in price, the brain gets better, they add more sounds, features(click track, backing tracks, different configurations etc)
Once you get up into the 2-5k price range the pads are replaced by mesh heads, which not only register your hit, but how hard you hit it.

    Hope that answers your question
