Human rights charter question

    i have a question regarding the Human rights charter attached to Lisbon

    maybe someone can enlighten me:


    How would this affect ISPs like Eircom cutting of people from the internet? im talking about the whole joke of 3 strikes thingie they have which I heard alot of people within EU institutions are not happy about

    There's a very strong move afoot (particularly in the European Parliament) to decide that internet access is a human right deriving from Article 11 of the Charter:
    Article 11. Freedom of expression and information

    1. Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers.
    2. The freedom and pluralism of the media shall be respected.

    However, the governments may yet squash that in Council.
