Thought he was meant to be the next Stevie G. (and I hate that term too)

Keane has said some players aren't doing it for him and they won't play for him again. Garvan and Stead were then left out of last nights squad so he's referring to them at least.

Garvan has the talent but not the fighting attitude Keane is looking for. I wouldn't worry. I seriously doubt a 21 year old Andrea Pirlo would make Keane's central midfield.

Oh yeah. I thought the OP meant he actually signed for another club.

Have to say i'm pretty shocked at this, Owen Garvan is a superb footballer, clever can pick a pass and a tireless engine, i'd say he plays more in the style of a young Nicky Butt, he is definatly one for the future.

I think this Ipswich job is gonna expose Roy Keane for what he actually is. His man management is brutal.

I certainly wouldn't compare him to Nicky Butt. His strength is passing and weakness is defending by all accounts. Very much a Pirlo type player and like Pirlo would probably need a couple of midfielders to cover for him. But he's stronger than Pirlo and for a big guy really should be better defensively. Don Givens gave him an attacking role for Ireland behind the striker but he's a natural deep midfielder imo.

He's ideal for Celtic under Mowbray tbh with Donati failing too often.

TBH i can't believe he got a job in football again after the Sunderland fiasco. To think of the money he spent there :pac:

Will get snapped up I'm sure, and thrive in a different tactical set up. I have been impressed every time I've seen him play.

Eirebhoy's analysis on his playing style seems good to me. He's in no way, shape or form a box to box battler.

Have seen him quite a bit Eirebhoy and yes his passing is sublime but i also thought he was half decent in the tackle, Celtic would be a good move for him, Mowbray would get the best outta him and hopefully progress his career.

Yeah, I also hate that term tbh.

Garvan is a serious player for the future, imagine him and Stephen Ireland(I can hope) battling it out for the midfield spot for Ireland.
