you can get a paint in B&Q thats used for flower pots and stuff, comes in all the colours you'll need and it feels a lot nicer than krylon, its kinda stippled/gritty textured. :)

Is it as crazy expensive as krylon? ;)

10-12 quid a can and its made by a plasticote so its a reputable brand, ive bought a load of them over the last year or so and cant fault them. :)

tbh, plasticote paints tend to suck... ive used them on aegs... too runny and meh, and even the matt paints tend to be shiny in blobs and patches of the paint... Krylon is best or model paints if you like that battered look when it begins to wear (sooner than krylon) Tamya model paints are good for that.

MIA do have Krylon in stock iirc... its where I got some.

i got similar spraypaint at salute last year, it was for doing touch up jobs on vehicles but works well on aegs too and at only a couple of yoyo a can was cheap, they had flat od, brown, sand and black!

even something like 10% gloss (a proper mat as most people know them) will look shiney if not applied right. it shouldnt be applied thick enough to drip. the most important part of painting anything is prep work and to work in layers. even if it looks thin and crap it'll adhere better and flatter than puting it on thickly and allowing it to drip.

A lot of the paints ive used in the past were prefessional grade cellulose or water based paints used in the motor industry and using a gun and compressor, but i don't always have access to the equipment and have many a time used aerosols from plasticote and even halfords paints with great results. its 90% what and how you do it, 10% paint. :)

Yeah, but that's like 40 euro for a gun, and you'll have loads of useless paint left.

what? were talking about an aerosol here? its between 10-12 quid.,

if your talking paint guns then you'll need a compressor too so its a lot more than 40 quid.

Nice one for that Masada i've been waiting on green for weeks now in MIA, really need to do the spray tan on my TM VSR project, haha.
Think i might take a trip up to B&Q and test it out.
Have to see if Krylon and that one mix ok before i put it near my rifle though.
Sure if not no harm in waiting a little bit longer for the good stuff.
    Thanks again.
