Redundancy Payment

    I'm due my redundancy payment this week. Am I going to get a cheque or will they transfer it to my bank account?

    Sorry to hear you lost your job man.

    It depends on the company.I know people that have been given a cheque and others that have had it lodged in their account.

    As Eoin said,clarify it with them.

    When I left a large, demanding, multinational 1 1/2 years ago they deposited the redundancy payment in my bank a/c.
    There was a full and thorough briefing given and everything was gone through in detail, such as pension, tax, VHI etc so there were no surprises.
    Other companies may differ.

    Sorry guys, did not explain myself very well in post. I was paid into my bank account on Tuesday night and was trying to calculate if my redundancy was included in it (it was not much anyway!).
    Anyway, it was not included, but they made some deductions from my wages for some stuff I bought in work, not too happy about that. :(
