hi everyone new to this so thanka for help in advance just halfway through scanning my photo collection prints that is, and wondering am i doing the wrong thing. Read on the web better to buy special scanner for negs bettter quality especially for reprints etc,or use available lab services if any. Any thoughts please. By the way my needs could be described as modest enthuaist but knows a little bit:)

I prefer to scan the negs, even though they can be scratched, dusty or moldy... I find there's a good difference in detail and clarity... worth doing.

Thanks for reply. Makes sense i suppose, but is there a service out there that will do it for me and maybe put them on a disk, rather than me trying to source a good quality neg scanner if its available off the shelf. Scanning 1,000s prints a bore negs will surely be as bad and i cant face it.

if you bring your negs into any local lab they will be able to put them onto a disk for you and wont cost all that much. the one i use puts all my images onto a disk for an extra €3 no matter how many rolls of film im getting developed, but im using film very little these days so price mite be a little different depending where you go.
