    Hi,

I am hoping to purchase a new car in the New Year. My questions is "Is it too early to look for quotes for changing?". I am also trading in a 5yr old car. I am also conscious of the fact that the govt. may make changes to the VRT rates in the December budget and this may effect any pricing I may receive.

    Any views on this ?

Depends on what type of car you are looking for. Some cars have long waiting lists & if you are getting any optional extras your car will be specially produced - so it may be worth while looking into it.

Its worth while doing lots of research anyway...

No harm in giving yourself a couple of weeks grace - cars can often get delayed... with a 3 month leadtime you would have to order by the end of September anyway...

Is there still 3 month waiting lists?
With thousands of cars still sitting idle around Europe, surely they can get something a bit quicker?

Not a waiting list - a lead time - he is looking or optional extras which means the car needs to be custom made & shipped to Ireland.

The factories have reduced their staff numbers and capactity in the current climate, so waiting a while is understandable.
