Long time reader of the A/R/T threads. Bigs thanks to everyone for all their posts and advice. :)
only until now do i require the advice of you experienced runners.

I'm training to do the DCM for the 1st time. My milage is up to about 30 miles P/W. Recently after the 10 mile Frank Duffy race in the park, I sufferred a sore knee that night. (The race went fine on the day).
I went back training last week and feel a constant strain on one of my knees. Right under the knee cap - no visible swelling. Now its not excruciating pain, i feel no pain when i'm sitting down and walking, its only when I run its straining.

I rested for 1 week, thinking this would solve the problem. I ran a short 5 mile yesterday and pushed through the tingle on my knee. Last night again my knee was killing me.

Friends are saying it's typical runners knee  (what is runners Knee - sorry if this sounds stupid) or possible Cartilage/ligament damage.

I have read the charter at the top of this forum. I'm not looking for medical advice, i'm just wondering what you professionals do?
Is this a common injury? If so I might have to think twice about road running?

I need to get this checked by a professional. Has anyone experienced the same and how long does it take to recover?
Will I be OK for the DCM? I can't afford to let this injury take up anymore of my training time.

Can anyone recommend a physio in the North Dublin area?

Runners knee is one of the big 5 injuries but unless your friends have medical degrees I wouldn't be taking thier word for it!

I know your not looking for medical advice but I'm sorry I can't see this thread going any way other than down the medical route and the Admins won't let us do that
