TV signal distribution

I'm looking into distributing the signal from a loft aerial to 4/5 different points in the house.

I could get a 4 or 6 way distribution amp and run lengths of coax to different point of the house but that is a lot of cable (I'd need 3 full lengths of the house as 3 TVs are at the opposite end of the house to the aerial).

I was wondering if I got a cheaper 2-way, or even a single output amp and used passive splitters to branch off to the various points when needed. This would allow me to run a single length down the house and split it at the very end, with minimal lengths of coax then running to the 3 TV points.

I'm in a strong signal area, so with this amped, the loss at the passive splitters shouldn't have too bad an effect on the end result at the TV points?

    Opinions?
