thousand is answer 1,000,000,000... six 0 is a million eg 1,000,000 x 1000 = 1,000,000,000 or one billion

It actually depends. old timer's use imperial billions, a million million. They probably also use the Fahrenheit temperature scale too... assuming they're not yanks.

Everyone else uses the thousand million version, ten to the power of nine,

or one followed by 9 zeroes.

Except in India where it's obviously a hundred Crore.....

Giga is the SI prefix for a billion of something, like GigaWatts.

A trilion then is a thousand billion.
