    Hi guys,
I need a bit of advise. My screen is just after going black,I still have sound.Just before the picture went I heard a sound similar to that when a fuse goes.I have been advised that the back light in the panel may be gone.My query is whither it will be possible to get it repaired i.e. will it be economically viable to repair it.Also will it be possible to get the part to repair it?I paid a small fortune for the LCD and it is only a year and half old!!I have also been informed that it is quite common for this scenario to arise.
    Help!!
    Selig:eek:

I don't want to build your hopes up too much but I read somewhere recently that there may be an EU rule saying that you should have a two year guarantee. Certainly, a new TV should last a lot longer than 18 months. Do a bit of googling and see if you can find out anything. With your homework done go back to the retailer and also direct to Philips. Hope you get satisfaction.

Yeah it appears like the EU gives a minimum 2 year guarantee on electrical goods,I am going to query it.
