    Hey guys,
Gonna try and kill two birds here.

Going to Dubrovnik in 2 weeks. Havnt done much research on it at the moment. Anybody got recommendations to do and see? Beaches/Tourist attractions/Sight seeing/Good bars etc (the usual tourist malarky!)

Also, I was hoping to rent out a car for 2 days while I was over there. I am looking at Hertz/Avis all the usual stuff. I'm 24 so I might be stung a bit for the young drivers fee. Has anyone ever rented in Europe and if so how did ye get on? Was the service/price good?

Not sure about car rental. I did drive in Croatia before and it's ok. Alcohol limit is 0% and you must drive with your lights on all day.

Attractions - lots of information on Tripadvisor and also in Lonelyplanet Croatia book - but I can recommend some places. You'll have to look up their exact location.

Huge and good Pizza - Mea Culpa
Mostly good seafood in all restaurants - shop around.
Good wine bar - d'Vino (nice american guy called Cameron runs it)
Cool bar to drink in at early evening and jump into the sea from druing the day is Buza I and Buza II - they have hidden entrances so you'll have to look them up.
Club Fuego is a decent nightclub. These places are all in the Old town or just outside their walls. There are loads of cool little croatian bars on one of the steep stepped streets to the left near the end of the main street - cool places.

I would recommend day trips like one to Mljet and otehr islands if you are based in Dubrovnik. The Lapad peninsula is supposed to be amazing too.

Search on here there has been threads about things to to in Croatia/Dbk.

Staying in the old town is a great advantage and you'll need blinkers if you're going with your better half.
