Getting wipers for newer cars?

    Anyone know where to buy wipers at a reasonable cost for newer cars?

    Example in point is the '06-'09 facelifted Accord (or Passat). Prior to those models you could go to your Valeo stockist and purchase equivalents but now they're this kind of a flexi-style with no frame at all on them.

    In a dealers a set can cost ~€50 now, you used to be able to buy the Valeo ones for ~€20

    I bought them on eBay. Even with the cost of shipping I saved money.

    Measure the existing wipers with a measuring tape to get your sizes of both wipers. The wiper your on about is the Aero version. I get mine in halfords, Bosch ones think it was 32 euro for the pair....

    Got mine on ebay too - Mondeo Estate (Bosch Super+ Blades)

    Ebay €15 delivered.
    Halfords €29 for Bosch Aero Blades.

    Avoid Halfords unless desperate (and loaded)

    If you don't trust EBAY try phoning round some motor factors, then pick them up on a saturday morning.

    Lidls have them from time to time for dirt cheap. Like €6 for two in a box cheap and I seen nothing wrong with em.

    They are not the one piece flat blade that the OP is looking for though:

    @thebiglad/@bazz26,

    Can you remember who on eBay you dealt with?

    There are two main ones that seem to come up on eBay - a company called partsmonster and some Taiwanese company.

    The former have Bosch wipers whereas the latter have some kind of unbranded ones...

    There are 3 types of fitting on these blades, Bosch (Side lock), Valeo (Toplock) and Champion (Click lock). So becareful when buying off the net. Champion have a range called the Contact range. The pack includes the fittings for the revelant cars. Works out around €20 per blade. Check your local motor factors.

    @oldmanmondeo,

    The lack of availability in my local motor factors is what led me to ask this question day one ;-)

    For previous Accords the Valeo wipers did the job but now they will not do the facelifted '06 model. Maybe I just need to change motor factors ;-)

    Thanks for the suggestion

    A pair of genuine Honda wipers are €29 for the Accord...

    A set of TWO of these sorts of blades for a Honda Civic cost me €16.34 on eBay, and that included the postage.

    Mine weren't branded but they seem to be of high quality.

    @cnocbui,

    Thanks for that - that seems to be a really good eBay store!

    @gibbon75

    Thanks; rang the local Honda dealer and was pleasantly surprised - it was even slightly lower than the figure that you had quoted. The last time I bought Accord wipers from a dealer must've been c. 2001/2002 and I paid £36(punts!) for them then :-(

    Honda Ireland recently dropped the price on wipers,brake pads etc.

    Derek,

    try Limerick Motor Factors in Parnell St. They do the Champion brand new type blades. They have some in stock but not a complete range as it appears there are too many variants so the full range is impossible to stock. Anything they don't have they should have next day. I got a pair for an Astra H, cost me 20 euros each or less.
