Just looking for any tips or advice.

My goal is to loose weight and increase fitness.

Current level of fitness and stats:
    male, 31 years of age, 6ft 3in, 18st 5lbs.

I can run 3.6 miles non-stop in 27 minutes on the threadmill and also 1.5 miles in 9min 45sec on the threadmill.

I generally go to the gym 2-3 times per week. Generally I do approx 35 mins solid cardio (threadmill and bike) plus a 400m swim.

I would like to get my weight down to under 18 stone for a start but it is hard to make progress. I have only lost 5 lbs in about 12 weeks although my body fat has reduced so i am guessing I put on a bit more leg muscle.

Is it just a matter of keep working at it in the GYM?

Losing weight is mostly about diet. Try to make sure that´s good to start with. Then I´d get more into running and other cardio (imo running is the best although), 3/4 times a week of cardio should be enough, and also some light weights with high volume reps.

qwytre, I'm going to bounce this over to the fitness board as they will give you the overview on multiple fronts (diet, resistance training and cardiovascular training). If you specifically want advice on running/cycling/swimming don't hesitate to come back to us in A/R/T
