I've the same problem - I started using natural tears eye drops last year and they've really helped. I keep them beside the bed and put them in first thing when I wake up, and last thing at night. You have to leave it a while after using these drops before you put in contacts I think the minimum time is about 15 mins but I usually try to leave it a bit longer. I always carry contact lens suitable eyedrops too, especially if I'm going out and have makeup on as my eyes tend to get more irritated and dry then.

I was talking to my optician about this and was told to take more Omega 3 as well as the flax seed and to make sure I ate plenty of fruit/veg. I use Blink as artificial tears and it works fine.

As an aside (and I don't want to be horrible about this) is there any chance you could cut down on the textspeak? That hurts my eyes as much as dry eye.

You can buy them in any good pharmacy or optician's place really. The optician also recommended some sort of spray that you can use when your lenses are in but I can't remember the name of it just now. If you did want to get something like that, wandering into an optician's and looking at all the products for sale on the shelf is a good start. You might find what you want there
