Inlet Manifold

    Hi,

I own a 2001 Toyota Avensis, 1.6ltr petrol. Have been told by mechanic I need a new inlet manifold, and this will cost around €500. Can get it for €450 best price from a main dealer but this is still fairly expensive.

I'm still driving away without problems, but it could be getting worse. I tried the breakers yard in Dungannon but he couldn't help me. The problem with getting a second hand one i suppose is that it might not be in great shape either.

Does anyone know would an inlet manifold in a new model Avensis be the same, as in if there was one in a crashed car, I could try to get one second hand, but I don't know how new a car would have the exact part I need. Does anybody know anything about these parts?

    Cheers
    MartinAnt

not too many 1.6 Avensis models in the UK, so traynors won't be much good.

This noise is caused by a baffle vibrating inside in the manifold and can be cured by putting a small screw in at the top of the manifold. Its hard to describe where to put it but it can be done.
