Who exactly does the online reports for RTE? Its not a great website for our main news anchor. Always felt the articles were poor enough and often used out of date or unrelated pictures.

Today for example the report on the Wigan vs Manchester United match originally had the headline showing an incorrect score. I sent them an email, it was partly fixed. They never fixed the article which shows the incorrect score despite them listing (briefly) who scored. The picture of Wayne Rooney looks dated but isn't even in a united jersey.

The article itself is also much poorer then other news sites like "BreakingNews" and Irish Times.

You would think that the RTE would have a much better website layout and design wise and also publish more informative articles. Its not the first issue I came across on the website - I generally find their news reporting slow and poor and look at the other websites. Not including the BBC, which is much better obviously and outclasses RTE. The Irish Times is the only decent online media source for Ireland imo.

The sports coverage on rte.com is pretty woeful full stop. The news items, I agree are short and threadbare, they often read like a slightly fleshed out newswire release.

There are no in depth articles at all. While Robert Pestons blog may not be everyones cuppa if you are interested in big money then his bbc page is a must read. RTE are not even on the same planet.

    Ireland economy article on bbc.co.uk
    same on rte.ie.

Yes I know the bbc piece of designed for overseas consumption but its still a coherent overview.

A lot of the copy is just cut and pasted from the wires and therefore they make mistakes that aren't spotted by those in there.
