In what way is he 'respecting' it ? I mean I'm not aware of the Whitehouse observing "30 days of dawn to dusk fasting and extra prayer".
Perhaps you're party to some information I'm not.

Whats wrong with ramadan? I know people who enjoy doing it ( and really enjoy the eid celebrations that come afterwards )
