I got spacers put in yesterday in my upper mouth and one side is absolutely killing me and the other side is fine. Is this supposed to happen?
Also has anyone had a dual helix and how did they find it affected their speech or did it?
    Grazie!

I had spacers in to make room for caps for my braces.

From what I remember the pain was a bit more noticable on one side than the other.
Is the side of your mouth that hurts most the side that you usually chew with most?
I can't remember which way it was for me, but it is a factor I'm sure.

The plus side is the pain will subside eventually, and you will get used to having all this junk in your mouth. I'm guessing this was done in prep for braces?

If so...welcome the the Metal Mouth Club, t'will all be worth it in the end :D

Thanks for that! It's not the one I chew most on, that's why I was eager to know might there be any other reasons. I was a bit naive not realising there would be a bit of pain with the spacers. I'm thinking that the teeth on that side of my mouth might be tighter or something. I shall be heading into the world of metal next week! Cant wait:)! A bit of pain for alot of gain:)

Got spacers in before my brackets were attached and it was by far the most painfull part of the whole process to date.
