    That's nice for you.

I'm not sure what you're expecting posting in the Christianity forum when presenting a question on the existence or not of said individual.

It's not called faith for nothing.

was just after exiting the thread do you believe in god? to find this

think if you tune into god, higher self, you will find many coincidences happening in your life...

dunno if god is real..no1 knows for sure..

i have travelled alot and have been in massive, outstanding catherals all over the place...would someone go to the trouble of building a catherdral just for the sake of it...the dedicationin the paintings...somethings out there..

priests nuns give their life to him

near death experiences and accounts from those involved

    miraculous cures

    synchronised world

    u decide....!

seems the work of the devil in society is more popular these days

Is money real? Money consists of paper, ink and a little aluminium foil. Thats all. The 'real' material value of a 50 euro note is only a few cent. (Money is no longer connected to the Gold Standard)
Yet despite this, money has a value (once people have 'faith' in the value of money).Something can have a value irrespective of whether this value is 'real' or not.

Now, one can argue that God may be 'real' or he may not be 'real'. It has never been proved conclusively either way. So we have to live in this world with at least some uncertainty. However, 'God' may have a value irrespective of his 'reality' and hence, if we value God, we will tend to commit ourselves to his reality.

Both intellect and will (desire) may be involved in belief and if we value God and religion, we may commit ourselves to its belief.

(This is an argument for a belief in God based on His 'value' . However, if you do not value God or religion, the argument fails).

There is no point in asking if God is real (especially on a Christianity Forum) if you haven't asked if you are real?
    So, are you real?

    Anyways, to answer your question.
The word 'God' is real, that is all that we can ever really know with 100% certainty:)

I don't know about that Malty.

I know God is real, I'm pretty sure every Christian on this forum knows God is real, we can't prove it, but we know it.

Indeed! But what if there is a God?

Anyway, lil man, there is evidence for the existence of God - you can look at the historical, cosmological and philosophical arguments for starters (the latter is a link to 5 philosophical arguments given by Peter Kreeft) - but it is ultimately up to you to decide if the evidence is strong enough to warrant your faith.

well i'd like to hear what other people think about god!

I think God was invented by humans in order to make sense of the world and to provide comfort and understanding in human terms. Our species is very prone to doing that.

Pop over to the A&A forum to find out more

Presumably as you are posting here you implicitly are asking about the Christian God? That of course bypasses the problem whereby you do not know which if any of the thousands of Gods thrown up by all the different cultures in history is the one true God. Whether the Christian God is real or not, I do no know any more than anybody else. But if he isn’t, and Christianity had never come to be, it is most probable that something else would have instead.

being honest i dont think he is real. i feel he is made up or something but if that is the case what is the bible where did that come from ??

If that's the case then probably better to discuss it in the Atheist & Agnostic forum. You can hardly expect the Christianity forum to discuss where the Bible came from if it is the case that God is made up.
