Hi. I 'm 26 years old and finished college in May. I am now a qualified primary school teacher. I have applied for approx. 200 jobs since June and haven't gotten one yet. School starts next week so I'm not too hopeful at this stage.

A few questions- am I entitled to jobseekers allowance or jobseekers benefit?
And another question- I think I saw that you need to show your bank statement to the Social Welfare office- what is this for?
And one more question- how much would I be entitled to?

It all depends on what credits you have earned since 2007 onwards in terms of JSB. Did you work during college? Anyone can apply for JSA (if you do not qualify for JSB) but this is means tested so it will examine whether you live with a partner, wife etc. what their income is, do you own any property etc.. They want to see your bank balance for either/both proof of address and to examine your accounts to see that you are not flush with cash so to speak (this will not apply I don't think if you qualify for JSB). In terms of what you are entitled to not entirely sure. Again it all depends on whether its JSB (presumably full amount) or JSA (your means). Make sure to keep applying for jobs to show your looking for work actively, and bring what proof you can that you have already applied for jobs. Why did you wait this long to apply? You should definately ask them to backdate it to when you finished college, but anyone's guess whether they would do so without a specific reason (e.g. medical)
I stand to correction on all of above but that would be my view.
