Tfer music from IPOD to new laptop

Hi folks, How can I transfer all my ipod songs onto a new laptop using just the ipod? Old laptop is completely dead so no access to old library. I downloaded new itunes and just plugged in ipod but all i can transfer are songs that i purchased through itunes(only 84 songs out of 3000 odd).any help would be great

It has been a while since I have had to do that but I think Songbird can do that for you http://www.getsongbird.com/.

You can also try Yamipod http://www.yamipod.com/, Sharepod http://www.getsharepod.com/

I would go with sharepod. I have had to use it twice and thought it was very good. It also moves the music into your itunes library while it is copying.http://www.getsharepod.com/
