pheasant chicks of the nest?

    hi lads,
    i have a young lab and i want to get him around the pheasants as soon as possible but dont want to disturb any birds that might be on nests!!
    can anyone tell me how soon it would be safe to let the dogs run through???

    birds are hardy now, just be careful your lab dosnt (chop. chop):),

    they were 12 months last week. i only got them at 9 months so im eager to see how they react around the birds. I know of an area they were nesting but didnt want to rush the birds off. thanks

    The barley was cut a few weeks ago. About 3 weeks and i came across a nest in the stubble. Havn said that i dont know did the combine scare off the hen or was it scared off long before this.

    went out today and the dogs showing promise but there are still very small chicks around and the dog managed to catch one so need to becareful

    first in over 4 years,first with my own dogs,and first without an expirenced mate to go with. is it that obvious

    No being honest iv been asking for advice on training a dog the last few months so id be no good to you im afraid:(
    My dogs first season this year and I cant wait:D
