    Hi,

Friend just bought a new Specialized Tricross. To my uneducated eye, it looks like there's a 'washer' missing from the bottom bracket?

    Anyone, anyone?

    Thanks,

    DFD.

Don't see any washer missing - where would you expect it to be? Looks fine to me

Nothing missing. Square BB's are a taper, so as you tighten the crank it jams on.

I thought the bottom bracket would come up flush to the spindle/ frame, if nothing else just to keep crud out.
Thanks for the quick response guys.

Yeah it does look as if there should be a cover for the bearing housing. Looks a bit unfinished but apparently that's the way they're made
