BrucePoker.com is very proud to announce our sponsorship of the Irish Poker Rankings.
After doing some projects with IPR we were approached to sponsor the site IrishPokerRankings.com and organise an end of year final for the top 10 players on the Irish Poker Ranking list.
In return, all BrucePoker.com Live Tour Events will now be official Irish Poker Ranking Events. This will be commencing from our Live Tour game in the Olympus Casino in Waterford on the 4th of September. There will also be the only online Irish Poker Ranking event every week ONLY on BrucePoker.com, this will also be commencing from the first week of September.
Please see BrucePoker.com and IrishPokerRankings.com for more details.

    Irish Poker Rankings Event Criterion.
    .
2> The buyin must be €200 or more.

Is the price of Brucepoker live event going up, or is I P R lowering their standard qualifying buy-in?

I will give fuller details of the sponsorship deal later in this thread but i would like to address your comment Destroyer.

In May this year the rules on buyins changed to :

2> The buyin must be €200 or more. Exceptions are made when it is a supporting event as part of a two or three day festival which allow you to list all your events in that festival including charity and super satellites. There are no Ranking points available for Super satellites at this time(unless super satellites where there was a normal pay structure). Events can be given ranking status when they don't meet this minimum requirement. Minimum notice of these events will be given under the future ranking events menu at least 28days in advance.

This meant that the rankings where more inclusive of a not only a wider audience but was financially more inclusive as we are in a recession and numbers in some tournaments were down and therefore we responsed to the TD's lowering there buyins.

There are casino's in cities that found it hard to attract people to pay €200 and it was felt to accomodate more players in the rankings then this was the appropriate way to go.

I will point out at this point that All clubs and casinos can make use of this change not only BrucePoker Live tour.

The one point remains constant. Anyone can enter the tournament and get the ranking points.

On Wednesday 20th August, The Irish Poker Rankings completed a sponsorship deal to get more money back to the players and provide further incentive for those following the domestic Irish Rankings and attempting to climb up the ladder. We are Proud to take BrucePoker.com as the Rankings sponsor and welcome the support they have and will continue to show to the poker players of Ireland with a little something back in return.

We have secure a total of around €6000 for the players in the rankings.

The winner of the rankings will get a trophy and $1000 into their Brucepoker Online account.

We then have a BrucePoker.com Sponsored Pro package to give away.
This package includes €5000 of tournament buy ins for Ranking events for the first part of 2010. Whether that be EOM month games or even Brucepoker.com live games. There are a few big games in the first few months of 2010 already declared. There are a few terms and conditions but nothing mad all these conditions are will be on the Irish poker Rankings website Shortly.

So how do you win the package?

Early in 2010 we will be running a Single table tournament with the package up for grabs with $500 for second.

How to get entry to this tournament?

The top 8 players in the BrucePoker.com Sponsored Irish Poker Rankings will automatically receive a seat.

The Top 50 players on the rankings on the 30th December 2009 will be eliable to enter a last longest competition as part of a live game. The top two people in a last longest competition will win seats onto the final table with a chance to win the Brucepoker.com Sponsored pro package.

BrucePoker.com sponsored Irish Poker Rankings will now have an online ranking series were the top player each month will receive full ranking points. The buyin will be $50 and will be on a Wednesday at 9pm. The ranking points will be given to the top players who earn the most money in that game only over the course of each calendar month.

As with all commercial decisions online poker companies in this climate take great care in where they put there cash. It is not like the old days where they would just throw it around. It is about them getting value for their money. Considering we are in August and we managed to secure ~€6000 for the players I think is a great achievement for IrishPokerrankings.com. Until yesterday they were only receiving congratulations from there peers. Now they have a little financial thanks as well for their efforts over the course of the year.

Again every decision was made to support the players and ensure the rankings were inclusive. As you may know Irish Poker rankings is a 'not for Profit' website and maintains this status still. We have accepted a small amount of money for the upkeep and administration of the site which will be included in a financial statement regarding funding at the end of the year.

in all fairness how can u put super satellites in as a ranking event where there could be 10 or more winners in some and really there played differently than normal touries

i think what u are doing is great but u need to put a lot more thought into your ranking points system a 2k event been the same as 200 event is not really right . for the rankings to be really worth anything u need better way to award points

Thanks for your support corkie123. If there was ten 1st places like in onlines satelittes then we do not award points. But if you have one ticket, say, then normal prizes then it is included.

Points system is going to be overalled for next year. We are going to have more ranking events lower than €200 and therefore we need to maintain a rankings system that is fair to players scoring consisitantly in big large buyin events. It will not favour a player winning one major event like the Irish Open. Although under the new points system they will get a lot of points but not enough to throw it.

Consistant winning and FT appearances will hopefully give us our number 1.

hopefully they will i do agree that consistantly winning is good but winning a couple 100 buy in touries and winning the irish open and maybe some of the bigger touries in ireland should out score these 100 rebuys

ps congrats on your sponsorship well deserved for your work towards rankings
