I thought my inverter was on the way out but it seems its another problem. On a closer examination I noticed that the housing that it sits into at the back of the panel is loose. The board that the chip on the inverter sits into has come loose from the board that connects the inverter to the lcd panel. It an IBM Thinkpad btw. Can I secure this back down with a dash of superglue or is it game over???

    Its an IBM R40e.

Looks like a new Lcd Panel is the only fix..
