Hey I need advice. I think I'm having a panic attack. I get them sometimes though I haven't asked a doctor or counsellor if that's what it is. I know I can't ask for medical adviice, i dont need any advice like that because I'm pretty sure I am having a panic attack again, where it feels like I'm choking, my tummy aches, my hands get sweathy, my head feels like there's pressure inside it and yet I feel shiverry all at once. I have been considering speaking to a counsellor for a while now and I think these panic attacks confirm that I may be taking on too much emotionally.

My question is, how do I see a counsellor? I don't have a lot of money (one of my reasons for freaking out and my contract in work ends in two weeks and I can't afford my college fees) so I can't really pay the €60 p/h that seems to be the norm.

Anyone with any advice please? all appreciated.

Oh pet I feel for you.

Would you try speaking to the samaritians? They really are very good. I had my first panic attack lately and I found they were great to speak to and free too.

I know it is not councelling, but it might get you over the attack you are having at the moment.

    I am thinking of u

If you are suffering from panic attacks there is a reason.

What you should do is go to see your GP as there are community mental health services etc that you can access. So go to your GP asap.

On the college fee issue does your college have a welfare office or councellor attatched to the student union. It is worth looking at this if this is the cause of your problems.

Right now ,if you're hyperventilating, you might try hoding a PAPER bag

over your mouth and try to breathe more controlled.for 3-4 breaths at a time.

I hope that helps (short term, but.)
