Hey guys, I'm just wondering if any of you would know about this. My dad's laptop just went to the bios screen saying the internal clock battery stopped working or something along those lines.

I looked it up and it said that the coin cell battery has gone dead... His laptop is a dell inspiron 1525, and I was wondering if there are differnt types of batteries and if so which one would I need?

Also, I've never taken a laptop apart before, only pc's, but I know how to do most things like upgrade a pc... would it be much harder to take apart a laptop?

If you need any other info about it, shoot.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dell 1525 Service Manual Disassembly

Guide for disassembling laptop there to get to Bios Battery. CR32 I believe their called (regular watch battery). Is the laptop within warranty? Also check if theres any bios updates available on the Dell website for your model as it make fix any bios related issues.

Nope, he said it was out of warranty, if it was in I wouldn't go near it with my lack of laptop knowledge :D He said he installed that bios update today, it was a priority update, so that must of had something to do with it.

Edit: Oh and thanks for the guide, I found that while I was looking up what was wrong. Lots o removing stuff.
