    Any one have one?

Thinking about getting one of the new 79 ones but would consider a washburn one either.

Are they really a bad quality as people make out?

Id go for one of the more expensive washburns, the chape ones are ok but the expensive ones are unreal. Buddy o mine has an expensive washburn dimebag culprit and i must say its sex to play, it sounds like sex and its built like sex.

I'd rather not, they're fairly ugly guitars. :pac:

I just bought one off blademan on here (79 re-issue model), aand all i'll say is its lovely to play , i has the xl500 pickup in it and sounds heavy as sh1t.

The floyd rose is sursingly good and stays in tune perfect (i give it a good bit of abuse).

If ya want more pics or more info on it brendan pm me.

What kind of money do the old late 80's early 90's Deans go for Brendan? The ones Dimebag would have been using himself before getting his own signature models I suppose? My friends big brother had one back in the day, it was a rather awesome piece of kit. Might be worthwhile pricing those and see if they are within budget? Probably mega bucks nowadays though!

So the 79s are pretty good then? I would very much like to see some pics, that would be great.

I would deffo have to put the xl500 in it, i had one in a jackson before and it was class.

I was of that opinion myself lads but they are quite hard to find, there is one on ebay that was the business but a didnt like the colour. Also i find that alot of the older one dont have the floyd rose which is a must for me.

EDIT: Here it is actually: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/80s-DEAN-ML-made-in-USA_W0QQitemZ120460722323QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGitarren?hash=item1c0c04c093&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262#ebayphotohosting

    I will keep looking

Im also looking at the DEAN ML ARCHTOP ATF3000 FLAME CHERRY GUITAR w FLOYD, which seems to me to be a ML in the style of the schecter hellraiser.

The specs are all the same apart from the pick ups:
    Body: Mahogany
    Scale: 24-3/4 in.
    Neck: Set Mahogany
    Fingerboard: Rosewood
Binding: Abalone Body, Neck, & Headstock
    Inlays: Abalone Dot
    Tuners: Grover
    Hardware: Black
    Bridge: Floyd Rose Tremolo
Pickups: USA Dean DMT "Baker Act" Bridge Pickup, USA Dean DMT "Time Capsule" Neck Pickup

Id have to get it in the black though
