Andy Keogh scored for Wolves with a glancing header from a free-kick. He also hit the bar with a beautifully struck ball from just outside the 6-yard box.

Hoping Bent scored again, with Essien or Cole with a late consolation.

Gomez popping up with a few for Wigan.

    Job down.

Just following the commentaries for the games here and here. Apparently Chelsea have dominated despite the scoreline, and Wolves are very deserving of their lead.

Darren Bent really off to a flyer with Sunderland. 2 in 2.

Ancelotti is trying to make Chelsea play like A.C. Milan and it's simply not working so far.

Wow from Deco. Why did you have to play like an old man last season?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

I hate Deco, but nice one

5 - 1, Defoe with his third. What a great result.

Defoe was sublime tonight. Great result.

Delighted we smashed them after seeing Phil Brown with his stupid little microphone thing. What a silly microphone device.

Have to say Spurs are going to be major players this season, they won't challange for the title but they might yet decide a lot about who wins it.

There is alway's a team who plays above themselves at the start of the season. look at Hull last season. Spurs are quality no doubt but can see them finishing 6th or lower.

Nice to hear tbh but its early days yet.

What has impressed me most so far is the teams work rate. In the past we were often complacent or the heads would drop went something went against us but the team seems to be really grafting now.

We undoubtedly have a lot of talent so the key will be maintaining the work ethic for the whole season.

Would'nt get carried away yet because I have seen teams crumble after Christmas and we've certainly had one or two false dawns at Spurs (;)) but signs are good so far.:D

We will not even challenge for 4th place, but we will take points off a lot of teams who have designs upon that or better.

    Cracking goals tonight by Defoe

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

He looks lean and mean doesn't he?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,857 ✭✭✭✭Dave!

He saved my fantasy football week after I forgot to change the team !

Was gonna get rid of him and put in Bent, but can't really justify that now with his form :)

He certainly looks up for it

Jesus, Pompey were robbed! Never ever a penalty.
