Good news for those of us who've spent evenings in 360 degree rain at the Sportsground. The Connacht Branch were successful in their Planning Application to finally build a proper covered terrace over the Clubhouse or Cemetary side of the ground. According to the Sentinel today, it will have a capacity of 1280 standing and 662 seated.

Naturally, there hasn't been a word out of the branch so far on this but I've come to expect that.

Great-ish news, good to see facilities, but I'd prefer a stadium with no sand track between you and the pitch.

That wind and rain can be pretty extreme sometimes. Hope this keeps it off you brave spectators!

Good news Robbo, although wonder where will the money come from to build it. If and when it does get finished I might join ye hardcore boys over that side of the pitch! ;)
