Ok so the whole intimacy/romanticism of the moment got the better of us and we were a bit stupid...

My partner and I were having sex and using a condom for protection. However he didnt withdraw straight after ejaculation. As a result the condom came off AFTER he had taken it out of me and some ejaculate spilt near and possibly on my vagina. I wiped the outside using toilet paper and then I wiped the inside completely dry.

What Im interested to find out is will what I have done have any effect or should I still take an emergency contraceptive? taking into consideration that this was on Sunday am and it is now Tuesday pm and the morning after pill is only effective up to 72 hours after risky sex.

I would appreciate if anyone with similar experiences etc would reply .

    Thanks!

I know well this is not a medical discussion forum and Mod's feel free to delete move as you see appropriate.

Also my apologies to anyone who feels that it is worded crudely/inappropriately but I felt this was best to avoid confusion.

+1 on the morning after pill but maybe have a chat with your doc as regards other contraception aswell to avoid it happening again

certainly take the MAP to put your mind at rest, pop into your local family planning or women's clinic in the morning(or phone and make an appt). they'll sort you out,it's not a particularly nice experience but it's very simple and easy.

to be completely honest, i think the chances of pregnancy are quite small. saying that though, only you know how much this will stress you out, waiting on your period for the rest of the month. if you think the MAP is the best thing,do it.

Go get the MAP to put your mind at ease but tbh, the chance of pregnancy here is pretty slim. It takes the average couple about six months to get pregnant and that is having regular unprotected intercourse. I wouldn't worry too much if I was you but perhaps you should look into an alternative method of contraception to avoid a situation like this in future.

    Hi OP here,
Thanks for the advice, think I will drop into the GP tomorrow on the way to work, to settle the nerves if nothing else!
