ive noticed that you can get banned for calling someone a culchy as it seems to qualify as abuse. is this not boards adding weight to the offence of the term? i mean the purpose is for someone to call another a culchy to try and make them feel inferior, so what is the ban for? is it for abuse where you are deriding them for living in a rural area or is it because the intent of the offender is to make the other person feel bad? and if its option 2 bob, is that not a bit of a grey area?

Dunno about any other forums but on Pro Wrestling it's used as a friendly term of endearment and part of the banter quite a lot

Leixlip isn't culchie - way to close to Dublin. You're just a wannabee.

Maynooth on the other hand .... :pac:

    Likewise.

And tbh I don't think it's an especially offensive term in itself ... but like a lot of other things, it depends on the context.
