This may be of interest to some: funded postgraduate courses at UCD for people who have been made redundant or who have been unemployed for 6 months. As part of the HEA Labour Market Activation scheme, 190 funded places are available on five Graduate Certificate courses, one of which is the Graduate Certificate in Green Technologies.

The certificate consists of modules on advanced biofuels and renewable energies, waste management and advanced air pollution, along with a project component. Applicants should ideally hold a Bachelors level degree in Science, Engineering or Technology disciplines, but those with other relevant qualifications and / or significant relevant experience will be considered for entry. Students who complete the Graduate Certificate course can build on this to obtain the MSc Degree in Bioresource Technology.

The programme fee for this Graduate Certificate is €2,750, of which €2,500 is covered by The Higher Education Authority under the government Labour Market Activation strategy.

    Further information is available here.
