Quick insurance question

Just making sure of something here. My GF recently bumped into another lady driving as she was backing out of a parking spot. She knew she was in the wrong and all that and was very determined that the other woman take her details. Now the woman has rang and said that it'll cost 300 to fix the car but it'll cost my GF 250 anyway to offset the cost or something (according to her who was talking to the insurance crowd, i'm really not familiar with this stuff). Surely we'd be better off paying the 300 as i'm sure having the no claims bonus is worth alot more than 50 euro?

Just getting opinions, thanks guys :)

Yep - I think this is pretty much self evident. She obviously has an excess of €250 for claims so you may as well pay it yourself. Though, my excess is only for damage claims not TP so worth checking

Would work out cheaper in the long run just to pay the €300. Pay the cash and just put it behind you. I had a crash 2 years ago and when it comes to renewing my insurance now most companies won't even quote me because I had a claim in the last 5 years which means I'm stuck with the one I'm with for the moment.
