not many people will buy a 60g because of all the problems associated with the model- i suggest being the lot down to gamestop and take what you can- or you can call them and ask how much they're selling the console second hand for

They were just a bad model- most problems being with the terrible lazer (like most sony problems to be honest!) I used to work repairing them, 90% of the ps3's we took in were 60g, they sadly just weren't built to last. Glad to hear your one has held up though! :D

Just to reassure you, I own the same model and haven't had a problem with mine either :D Maybe we got the only two good ones :) I use mine for gaming, watching DVDs and listening to music and watching AVI videos on. So far so good.

As for selling it on, no idea what price you should be looking for to be honest. I'd be interested to see what you get for it though! :)

In actual fact I believe the 60GB is much sought after for it's backwards compatibility, memory card reader and two extra USB ports. I've had mine almost two years and never had any trouble.

Don't think you will get more than €250 with the games for it seeing as its 60GB (bad BD laser, YLOD issues; mine is in getting fixed for this at the moment) and the retail price of new PS3 is sropping to €299 tomorrow.

Im wondering about selling mine though and buying a slim when it comes out. I have the following to sell:

PS3 Launch Model 60gb No trouble from it
    1 Six Axis Controller
    1 Bluetooth Headset

    GTA4
    Resistance 2
    Motorstorm Pacific Rift
    DIRT
    GRID
    COD World at War
    Fifa 09
    Mirrors Edge

    and in DLC:
    Fat Princess
    Battlefield 1943
    COD4/5 map packs
    Wipeout HD
    Inferno Pool

I would of thought I'd of got about €350 for it

Which branch of the Microsoft Store do you work in?

Nah, only joking couldn't help it.

I reckon you just want to buy it off him on the cheap.

Announcement expected this evening - any price drop will be to clear existing stocks out to make way for the new slim ps3. Either way its going to affect the value of your PS3 console. I'd actually advise getting into a car and hitting game or gamestop now today if you're thinking of trading it in as trade in value will drop as early as tomorrow ( if not already done so of course )

    * All this assumes the expected announcement happens but its very widely expected.

Why would you sell all your games, if you are buying a new PS3? I understand DIRT, but Fat Princess hasn't been out for more than 2 weeks.

Just download all of them on the new console with your old account?

i can't believe how llow people are pricing 60gb ps3s here. despite the well-known problems, they are well sought after. imo, you could easily get 400 euro for the console alone
