Hi, I am driving from westmeath to Edinburgh via B'fast - stranraer, in a few days. I'm looking for any tips from anyone who may have made this journey. Such as places to stop for lunch, snacks etc or any nice sightseeing along the way, any info at all really. Thanks.

Did it for the Heineken Cup final - its a fine drive, you probably won't need to stop, you'd do it in just over 2.5 hours. After nearly an hour you're on motorway all the way, up past Glasgow and its only about 40 mins from there. Scenery is much the same as here or not as nice, you'd want to go off your main route to see anything of interest I'd say.

Edit: Obviously I'm only talking about the Scottish leg here - when we reached Larne on the Saturday morning we had plenty of time so got breakfast in a greasy spoon - it's mostly motorway you'll be on to Belfast again.
