Seat assignment in the restaurant

    Hi,

I haven't been to a wedding in quite long time, and I have the celebration of my own this weekend....I would like some advice regarding the seat assignment. Who does usually seat near the groom/bride? Will it be the best man and friends, or rather the family? I'd prefer to have my best man and friends (I just think it would be more fun :) ), but I guess the parents should seat nearby the groom/bride?

It's up to you. Tradition dictates that the Bride & Groom along with the best man and chief bridesmaid sit together.

Outside of that it's usually either the rest of the groommens/bridesmaids and/or the parents at the same table as the B&G.

It's something you can ask yourself - if your parents would be happy to sit with their friends/siblings rather than you, then work away. It's one thing that I wouldn't just go ahead and do though. It's only a meal, you have the rest of the night to talk to your mates. Maybe ask your bride too, she might not want to spend her entire meal sitting at a table with your mates! :D
