    Anyone here watch HOLBY CITY and do they think it is a good reflection of life in a Hospital ??

    Cardiac Arrest, although quite comedic/dark, probably made the best go at showing the reality of hospital medicine, at least at junior grades.

    And you get a young (& filthy) Helen Baxendale too which is no bad thing.

    Must say Andrew wasn't too bad without the glasses either :p Definitely my fav out of all those type of programmes.

    There is a series called "Getting on" on BBC at the moment. It is set in a geriatric ward. Watching it made me cringe. I relived all the stereotypes I used to encounter on the wards: from the female consultant constantly putting her foot in it with awkward comments, to the over-sensitive male matron with a love of protocols and management-speak. The very fact that there is no major dramatic action makes if more realistic.
    The only thing that makes series like "Holby" or "Grey's anatomy" realistic is that the NCHDs are all ridin' each other.

    Mix stressed out NCHDs with limited social life and a bit of free booze at a res party: sodom and gomorrah.
