You would be better off looking at cars with Nct. Plenty of cars for under 2,500 with full Nct

That is an awful wad of cash for that car.

Heap of junk by the looks of it. If they can't be bothered to take half decent photos then, i wouldn't bother looking at it.

I agree. Obsene amount of money for a 2000 citroen.
There's no picture at all of the right hand side of the car and all the pictures are close up. There could definatly be a dent or damage on the other side. It's no loss to enquire on the condition of the car by a phone call.

I wouldn't go near it. Bad dent on the wing. It's a heap of junk. The pictures are all close up, not good. Suspiciously low mileage for a car that has a very worn steering wheel and a very worn accelerator pedal. Stay away. Plenty of other cars out there with a full NCT for that price.

You get a mint '97/'98 BMW 5-series for that sort of money :) That Citroen is not worth more than a few hundred quid.

Ring up and say you passed the garage, saw €1200 on it and wondered if it was taxed, NCTd etc, what tyres are like...then negotiate.

Judging by the photos, the salesman won't even know the car exists so will go along with what you say. Worth a shot. Wouldn't pay more than €800 for it.

I looked at a mint 02 one when I bought my first car in 2006. The boom price of a minter was €5k. That one is 5 years older, looks rough and the industry is in crap.

thanks for the replies. There really isn't alot about tho, need to find a bangermobile of 1.0 - 1.2 or a low-end diesel, low milage, budget max of 2.2k but honestly, there nothing sub60k for that, preferred England but its gone nuts over there so looking homebound but for my budget, (escaping punto, daywooze and Fiestas (bad experiences with the latter) I;m a wee bit lost (She who must be obeyed would like a polo but good ones are very very rare sub 2.5k (or perhaps I should throw away the internet prices ?). My brother who is in the trade reckons no garage that he knows would take less than 1/3rd off the screen price, even now...?

    Thanks again,

    FBP...

Polo's are solid cars, that's why they keep the value.

And anything that is cheap to run is in demand, so price goes up.
