Players must compete in at least three rounds to be eligible to compete in the Grand Finals.

Please note that there is a NEW RULE for the 2010 Championships.

Players may not compete in Rounds Five and Six if they are not eligible to qualify for the Grand Finals, i.e. a player may not compete in Round Five if he/she has not competed in at least one previous round and a player may not compete in Round Six if he/she has not competed in at least two previous rounds.

that rule change is a good idea,

It is a fair rule for the players that turn up to support all rounds of the Championship.

Some players were competing in the last two rounds just for the prize money and it would have been very unfair if they deprived somebody of a place in the Grand Finals.

DG, have you ever looked into running a round in the Galway/Mayo area (even Sligo) it'd probably attract more player from this end of the country to travel to the others if there was one round up this end of the world and they only had to travel to 2 others.

Soory lads. Pardon my ignorance but how does this work. How would I go about entering.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,182 ✭✭✭dionsiseire

www.dartsinireland.com normally has the forms to print off

you send your entry with a €30 cheque or postal order with the form for each championship as it comes up

You arrive at the venue on the day, play your matches and the further you get the more ranking points you'll pick up with 12 for the winner. Over the course of 6 tournaments the top 32 cumulative ranking pointed players are invited to the grand championship which is recorded and broadcast at a later date by TG4

Its effectively the irish circuit if you want to call it such

Entry forms for the various rounds will be available for downloading shortly.

Regarding the running of a round of the Championship in the Northwest - -there are no plans for that at the moment.

You are taking a chance, James, in missing the first two rounds if you want to qualify for the Grand Finals.
Get the points in the bag early before the mad scramble in the final three rounds.

Round Two takes place in Abbeyleix on Novenmber 21st.

What is the prize fund and break down for all the rounds this year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 456 ✭✭Any Double !

Money has always been good as whats taken in is paid out. Last 16 upwards in men's are paid.
It would be hard then to say what each round would be as it depends what the number of entries are.
I'm sure Dartgod will check in here later and fill you in properly.

    Well said, Pops !
The prize fund at each round will depend on the entries but we are off to a great start in Round One.
The pay-out will be down to the last sixteen in the Men's Championship with the winner getting at least € 1,000.
The prize money for the Ladies and Youths will also depend on entries on the day.
And remember the first player to hit a 9-dart check-out will pocket the Jackpot prize of € 1,300 - - - it can be done !
