Caught with weed.

I was recently caught with a small amount of weed(5gramsish). The guards searched my car and obviously found nothing as I handed them what I had. The guards said it would be sent off to be tested and would probably result in an interview with the sergant or a court appearance. I gave him my number and left it at that. He said he would contact me soon.

Anyone know what I should expect next? I really feel sick to my stomach. I still live at home with my parents but don;t have a job at the moment. My mother suffers from depression and if a guard called to the house and told her she would become even more depressed.

    Thanks.

I'd say you will be ok with Guards it is a small amount you may get an adult caution!! once it was not for sale and you said it was personal use i reckon you get away with it.

Why did they search your car in the first place?

They just happened to walk by and see the cannabis.

I suspect you will be contacted soon. If not by phone then by mail, with a summons. You can check http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/ to find out what the penalties are and what your rights may be.
