Audi A4 Multitronic Clutch Judder!

Recently my 2003 A4 Multitronic avant has developed a judder when accelerating (like the clutch is slipping) I rang a respected Dublin transmission specialist and he seemed to recognise the problem straight away (needs new 7 plate clutch modification?) and told me it would cost €1500 plus vat to repair Anyone else…
