Foozball, Forza, Pool, Poker? Need some ideas...

Heya, just back from holidays and I'm looking for ideas for something fun.

I've been thinking about running something on a saturday or sunday afternoon. The Voodoo has a pool table and a foozball table and plenty of big screen TVs. I've got an Xbox 360 and I'm sure I can rustle up another.

So I'm thinking about putting on something team oriented. The idea being that 2 players play foozball, one plays Xbox 360 (I'm thinking Forza 2 for driving fun perhaps?) and maybe all of them play as a team in poker? (sit and go's?)

All of this is entirely aimed at fun, we can charge something in to provide a prize but the purpose is to have a long afternoon of mucking about playing games

I'm looking for suggestions for things like points scoring (or if the idea is even a runner!).

Anyone else fancy this as a once off bit of a laugh?

Sounds like a good laugh to me Dev, might be easier to keep it individual...i.e. a poker tournament, then xBox comp, then pool tournament, then more poker, then foozball, then more poker

With regards to points scoring:

You could do something like FIFA, every goal scored is 1k in chips. Same with foozball. Then play HU Shootout against the same player? (individual)

With teams you could prob do the same, with 4-man FIFA, 4-man foozball then 4-man SnG or 2x HU Shootout...

if it was teams of 2, and 1 of the players didnt have to play poker more might go?
2 on 2 game of fifa.
heads up poker match [1 player from each team]
foozball match [the other player]
doubles pool match
etc

why not involve chess and backgammon as well seeing as though boards has a chess forum some of those lads might be interested

also Tom if you have it in that stone cold heart of yours to set up a backgammon forum give me a shout id like some of that mod power:p

Right you have my brain thinking now so lets see

for the forza each player sets a time with the top time recieving 20 pts 2nd best 19 and so on

fooz ball knockout comp winner 20 2nd 15 3/4th 10 5/6/7/8th 5 all others zero

pool same format

chess/backgammon
random draw each player plays once and gets 10 pts for a win 0 for a loss in the event of a draw in the chess 5pts each
if an odd number of players the last person drawn recieves 5 pts

Poker
points get tallied together and the event is a mtt each point is worth 100 chips so lets say eg i dont score in the forza 0pts 5th in foozball 5 pts i win the chess and backgammon 20pts and come 8th in the pool i have then accumulated 30pts so 3000 starting stack plus minimum chips lets say 2500 so my starting stack is 5500

then use normal structure

love the idea and would be interested if i can get the time off work

Great feedback... thanks lads.

Fifa... nggggggggh, I freakin' hate hooli-ball. I dont even drive and I included Forza (its a car racing game, very good one too).

I have some Fifa *obsessed* mates though, so perhaps a separate day for that, cos I think Fifa might be a huge draw on its own...


I dont think that results in one arena should affect the starting position of another, for example, if I suck at pool, but rock at poker, I dont want my chip stack affected by my ability at pool. Let the scores reflect the abilities.

Perhaps teams of two, with a knockout for foozball, Forza and pool but a tournament for poker? I think everyone should have to play each, its just a bit of fun like... no need to be getting in specialists!

I'll have a word with the lads in the club and see what they say (I havent even mentioned this to them yet hahah, but I'm sure they will be up for it).

this is such an obvious attempt to get poker players jumping around playing Wii Fit and gambling on it so you can pay for your holiday:)
