avg free warning

i typed up a big post but it was boring so long story short....



i had a virus on the pc, which attaches itself to existing exe files, pc worked fine but a lot of sites were blocked

avg free didn't detect it, but norton 2009 did

but ... virustotal.com says that avg does detect it, so its only avg free that doesn't, i emailed avg about 2 weeks ago but no change

• From a clean computer, change *all* your online passwords -- for email, for banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, online companies, any online forums or groups you belong to.
• DO NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new passwords and transaction information.

ah christ, pity avg free doesn't spot it

i wasn't able to get into any secure sites with it so didn't get to enter any passwords



found this http://www.avg.com/us.virus-removal.ndi-67762 and its still running 11 objects infected so far
