    Hello,

I've set up a new property website called www.ready4offers.com. It's a place to link up serous property buyers & sellers. I'd be grateful for any feedback you had, or if you are house hunting / selling, if you are interested please feel free to stick up an ad.

    Thx,
    El.

Doesn't look that great, basic font used, looks like a ready made/off the shelf site. Only 1 property on it aswell so not much to see.

    Best of luck with it.

    Hi El,

The site looks ok from a public point of view..but you urgently need more properties up on your site to keep people there and interested..at the moment for me it was in and out and move on to daft and the rest....

What are you doing to bring people to your site to advertise?

don't take this the wrong way, but why would someone use your site ahead of Daft.ie?

I don't think he can take it the wrong way, you raise a good point.

    Daft.ie are untouchable.

    Some initial thoughts...

I would, personally, allow users to pick their own passwords. People forget everything, especially passwords, it just makes life easier.
Registration email is awful. Needs to be changed ASAP.
URL on the registration email is different, will not inspire confidence in people.

I submitted a made up ad (apologies!), it's prompting me for payment even though it's free. I also can't delete or modify it as it's awaiting payment.

Might just be me, but I would not in a fit, give credit card details for a free service.

I'll have another look in a few days.

Best of luck with your venture

Thanks very much folks, greatly appreciated.

Woodgate: Yup, just starting out, will be getting more properties on it next week but just wanted to get some feedback from entrep type folks on layout / useability, etc.

Bombe: Will be working on this.

Fiscalsatudent: You're 100% right. My goal is to have the motived sellers and more professional type of buyers on here.... to avoid the situations where sellers have 2006 prices up on their properties (many on daft & myhome) when current market levels are anything from 20/30/50% down from this. This site is looking to only have realistic sellers & buyers looking to buy/sell property at current market rate.

TheEntrepreneur: Agreed. I'm trying to go for the 'value/quick sale' end of the market.

Spartacus93: Thanks a million, this is great. I currently can't change passwords unfortunately I agree they'd be better if they could pick their own. I will look into it though.

URL is currently as it is, registration email changed - thanks.

    No payment prompt anymore.

Your ad is published (you can edit it now or pause/delete it), all future ads will go up immediately & will be reviewed.

i am a estate agent in the west ,to be honest with you i have talked to a lot of estate agents in the region and they are feed up with daft.ie
the cost of €175 per month with no sign of a cut in the price is getting on there wick,a small amount have pulled away already
your main rivals at moment would be huntforproperty, propertybug ect
good luck in your new venture

Worth taking a look at responses to a similar enquiry.

Didn't know about propertybug and huntforproperty. Which is their weakness. If they don't promote themselves estate agents won't sell via their sites, even though they're free.

I'd suggest that the header design and navigation area of the site could do with a little improvement to make it look more professional. Your Ready4Offers graphic looks more like an ad than a part of the site. The navigation links would probably look best if they were included on a navigation bar with some colours.

It's a difficult market as you know, and I wish you the very best of luck with it.
