Hey all. I just moved to Corfu as Volunteer Manager for a charity called The Silva Project, and have discovered that, by the end of next week, I will have NO volunteers left to run our programming until the middle of September. Below is an ad I've placed on Idealist.org, if any of you would be interested in coming to Greece ASAP, please get in touch - you can PM me if you prefer, or through the official email address below. Please forward this to anyone you know who might be interested in seeing out the end of summer in the Greek islands!!! :pac:

The Silva Project, on the island of Corfu, Greece, urgently requires short-term volunteers for either our Kiwi Farm or our Equestrian Centre. If you are available immediately for 2 to 3 weeks (until the second week of September), please complete the appropriate application form(s) at <http://www.thesilvaproject.org/Volunteer.shtml> and email to thesilvaproject@gmail.org or call Clare on +30 698 446 7059

Kiwi farm volunteers work on our small organic kiwi farm, which is currently undergoing a number of improvements, construction projects, and rehabilitations. Although no qualifications are required, experience in construction, landscaping, or farming is a big help. Obviously, physical labor is required of all volunteers.

Equestrian volunteers work with our herd of endangered Skyrian horses, either as a barn assistant (primarily stable management) or as a lesson assistant for our children's riding program. Basic horse experience is required for barn assistants, while at least an intermediate amount of equestrian experience is needed for the lesson assistant position. A capacity for mild physical labor is required for both positions.

There is no fee to participate in our programme, and room and board are provided.
