Wish the score was better quality! Bloody arsenal!
Part of me is a bit gutted about not renewing Digitalb this season. But the cyfra+ HD picture is superb and the Al Jazeera seems to be coming up trumps for the footie as well. Shame the prices for digitalb weren't so high during the summer compared to now.

Are my eyes deceiving me, or is Supersport now in widescreen?

Have to say, Cyfra HD looked superb today. 5Live online is 3 seconds or so ahead, so a bit annoying. Can't find software to delay live stream, but I'll get over it.

I've found myself watching a lot of JSC Sport +3, which is mostly English.

Still half tempted ot get a Digitalb renewal to supplement my other cards, as it seems to be widescreen now.

Yes 16:9 & amazingly looking sharp.

You should use Radio Delay Byte - It's a brilliant piece of s/w, snaps put me onto it & I haven't looked back

just google radio delay software. if not, PM me an email address and ill send to you its about 160kb in size.

Ive just read that digitalb aren't showing this Liverpool game? Is this correct?

I'd doubt very much if Supersport picture is sharp, tbh.

Yes, they're not showing the Spurs/Liverpool game, for some strange reason.

WRT RadioDelay, it seems to only be able to delay external sources. I need something that can work for streaming radio, but have a delay feature.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,138 ✭✭✭snaps

This is what i use. I have a skybox tuned to five live, RCA out to 3.5 in (Mic laptop) Make sure recording input is mic in audio driver on xp.
3.5 out (Headphone laptop) to rca in on an amp and job done. Mic level on laptop turned down to near minimum!

Delay usualy around 7 secs for HD picture and 4 seconds for SD.

    http://www.daansystems.com/radiodelay/

How do you get commentary online streamed, I always get blocked content on BBC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,244 ✭✭✭irishchris

shame there is no way of getting supersport hd without a digitalb reciever as cards are paired to them and so can only get sd without!!

I bit the bullet and renewed my Supersport subscription, for €229 off tringsat.com

Ordered this morning, and card was updated at 11.30 so not bad service.

I'll still use Cyfra primarily if games are on C Sport HD, otherwise I'll fall back on SuperSport.

I am looking at upgrading my motorised FTA system to get Digitalb. Alsat have a deal for a darkbox and 12 month subscription for £260 on ebay. Should I go for this?

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/Digitalb-Supersport-12-months-DM-5000-Darkbox-Usb-Pvr_W0QQitemZ320414054152QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ConEle_SatCableFreeview_RL?hash=item4a9a2a7708&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Or should I get the reciever and card seperate. Does anyone have the darkbox and what do they think of it. I was looking at a technomate for similar money.

Personally, I'd choose a Technomate over a Darkbox, as they're pretty reliable. But I've not personally used a Darkbox, so can't comment on it.

Darkbox isnt a bad little receiver. I got one for a mate and he has had no hassle with it. It does blindscan and allows recording to USB.

    What reciever/cam are you using?

    Yeah, it's listed on LJ's.

Still, it's a disaster of a year for official subs. :( Heck, ART are showing the 4pm tomorrow, but not Digitalb or Cyfra. For shame!

LJ's now say the 4pm game today is on Supersport 4, so looks like all is good...

And, just so it's clear, there can only be discussion of legitimate viewing cards.

    No probs Byte.

4pm on Digitalb has made my day - happy days.

Hoping there picture is as good as last weeks - really was super

Hey Byte, what ye think of that pristine picture on the 1.30 game on Digitalb m8?

    Didn't see it.

Looking at the Chelsea game now on SS4, and Burnley/Everton game on SS3, neither of which are in widescreen, which is disappointing. That said, the Bordeaux/Nice game on SS5 seems to be in widescreen.

Overall, the picture quality seems better than last year, hope it stays that way. Wish they wouldn't cut to adverts during the goal roundup at fulltime :)

hi guys i want to get a setup for digital b can you advise the best equipment to buy and where is the best place to get it from. what does a cam do and do all boxes need a cam thanks for your time.
    kevin

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,329 ✭✭✭Manc-Red

Hey Kevin, first you need a dish at least 80cm, you need a receiver like a Technomate that has a multi-cam built into it to open the card - which in this case is Conax encryption.

If you google any of these including the Digitalb card you'll get all the info you need m8

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 251 ✭✭Irish Kev

    you can get a receiver and 12month card for £229 = €262.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,329 ✭✭✭Manc-Red

I'd be jumping on that Kev m8 - great price.

    What receiver is it?

Sorry for joining the thread late on guys but only looking at my first sat install and would like to ensure I get my fair share of the primership games. Having not installed I'm getting the impresssion that you get your single of Hot-Bird sat and must pay for the sports ?

Is there a special box that is required (or would an sky or ntl box work here)? and will any of these boxs support a DiSEqC switch (4*1) ?

Are the prices stated on the thread for 12 months of sport only ? I read i can get the ART card for about 100 euro - would the digitalb (http://www.lj-sport.com/Channels/SS_Dig.html) be a better option ?? How much are we talking ??

For Digitalb, you need a dish pointed at Eutelsat W2 at 16°E.

Box wise, I'd personally recommend a Technomate TM5400, which has an integrated multicrypt card slot which is compatible with Conax encryption that Digitalb uses. Of course, it supports DiSEqC switches and motors too.

Sky or NTL boxes would be useless for anyting other than Sky or NTL respectively.

The price stated would be for the 5 sports channels only, though there are other options for the whole package, etc.

ART cards are cheaper alright. They would have similar amount of Premiership games to Digitalb, however have no English commentary soundtrack. Unlike Digitalb, they also don't have Champions League, La Liga or Bundesliga games. They might still show some SPL though not sure.

Looking at that price Irish Kev has mentioned, that'd be hard to beat for both receiver and card, assuming you only want sports. You'd need a good size dish for Eutelsat W2 though (80cm was too small for me).

A 1.2 metre Dish is required in Limerick to pick up 16e otherwise it breaks up in the rain.

Triax TD110 working good here for 16E, though wouldn't fancy going much less.

Possibility of 3pms back too on Sat, advertising City-Arsenal.

Knowing them though theres probably more chance of winning the lotto twice in a week than them having 3pms Live...

    We'll see
